There is no cut and dry ratio which is what makes China so fascinating. Both Bread and Honey moms are a hybrid of parenting styles and both still prioritize homework and studying over play of any sort. The big difference is with after school activities (including weekends) and how much free time they allow their children as well as how much time they spend doing things together. Bread moms will still schedule "practical" activities while Honey moms allow more choice, are open to what her child wants to do just for fun and will choose more activities they can do together as a family.

Interesting perspective on how these Chinese moms are starting to sound more and more like American moms. I wonder what the ratio today is of Bread Moms to Honey Moms and how that will change in the near future.

What a great article! It will be amazing to see how DvF does with Gap, especially based on the success that Target has had with bringing in guest designers. :)

Horray for Pantone! What an awesome idea that so many of us would enjoy -- due time they start coloring our faces in addition to our environments.

It's so exciting that Parham Santana is working to brand the paragon of color. What an honor, you guys!

Ah Man ... I love Marimekko for exactly the same reasons as you do. Exactly the same. I knew nothing of this brand (believe it or not) until I was in Helsinki visiting my daughter. Right there in a relatively dreary shopping mall was this shop with these gorgeous loud and bright patterned fabrics and products. Being rather loud and bright myself I was drawn to it like a bee to nectar. And ... being a decorator, all I wanted was to be able to apply it somewhere. So, as you figured I am a huge fan of theirs. Huge.

Clearly the licensing partnership between Heniz and T.G.I Friday's for frozen snacks and appetizers is doing things right! The T.G.I. Friday's frozen portfolio represents a $250 million business and Heinz will be increasing its marketing and product development investment in 2013.
